About the League

League Information

  • GFVL is an outdoor league that runs from the middle of May to the end of August, including a single elimination tournament.
  • Games are played on grass courts at Salmon Brook Park in Granby, CT, on Tuesdays, starting at 5:45PM.
  • The format is reverse co-ed (nets are at woman’s height (7’4”) and men must attack from behind the 10 foot line).
  • There are four members on each team (two women and two men).
  • Teams play two matches (of 3 games each) each night against two different teams. All matches count to the final standings.
  • League standings are in order by winning percentage.
  • Entry fee is typically around $190 to $200 per team. This fee covers the cost of the park, insurance, balls, nets and paint (for 10 foot lines). Discount may be given some years to teams that make a net available for league use.
  • All nets must be set up in time to finish warm-ups and start the games at 6:00.
  • Captains and players should review the rules prior to the first week of play.

Legal Information

  • The Town of Granby requires all players to sign a waiver of liability. Please have all players sign the form and bring it with you on the first night of play.
